People often assume every new watch begins with a sketch. Mine never do. They begin with a story.
BLACK GOLD has been part of my journey for more than fifteen years. Introduced first in 2010 and again in 2019, the original idea still felt unfinished. One question kept returning: How do you preserve the feeling of discovery Hydracapsule became the missing piece.
Sometimes ideas don't need more creativity. They simply need more time.

HISTORY RARELY CHANGES OVERNIGHT.
Most of the time it changes quietly, far beneath the surface.
Pressure, heat and time transformed ancient organic matter over millions of years before human curiosity revealed what had been there all along beneath the North Sea.

Looking back, I realise BLACK GOLD was never really about creating another watch. It was about finding the right way to preserve something I believed was worth remembering.
The first generation introduced the idea. The second continued the journey. FIRST OIL finally allowed the original vision to become complete.
I've never looked for the next watch. I've always waited for the next idea that refuses to leave.Until then, I keep asking myself the same question: What deserves to be preserved?
