The Bruvik Black Gold First Oil Ekofisk is part of the opening chapter of FIELD SERIES — a collection inspired by defining discoveries beneath the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
At its core lies the Hydracapsule® — a sealed sapphire capsule embedded in the caseback, containing a microdrop of genuine oil from the Ekofisk field, carefully prepared and blended with an organic carrier fluid. A moving air bubble creates a constantly changing composition with every movement of the wrist. Nothing is programmed. Nothing is repeated. Only gravity, movement and physics.
Gullfaks was discovered in 1969, with first oil on 15 June 1971. The Hydracapsule caseback displays the field name, coordinates, year of discovery and date of first oil, creating a physical connection between the watch and the discovery it represents.
Crafted in DLC-coated 316L stainless steel with warm rose gold-coloured details, the 41 mm timepiece is powered by the Sellita SW300 Swiss automatic movement with a 56-hour power reserve. It is supplied with a pull-up leather strap with orange stitching and an additional black FKM rubber strap.

Why Hydracapsule®
For a long time, I believed BLACK GOLD was waiting for a better design. Looking back, I realise I was asking the wrong question. The design had never been the problem. The story was.
Hydracapsule became the answer because it transformed an idea into something physical. A sealed sapphire capsule, a specially developed fluid containing a microdrop of genuine oil, and a single moving air bubble allow every movement of the wrist to create a new composition.
Nothing is programmed. Nothing is repeated. Only gravity. Only movement. Only physics.
The technology didn't create the idea. It simply allowed the idea to become real.

THE DISCOVERY THAT CHANGED NORWAY
Ekofisk was discovered in 1969, marking the beginning of a new chapter in Norwegian industrial history. On 15 June 1971, the field produced its first oil.
The BLACK GOLD FIRST OIL Ekofisk preserves a physical connection to that history through a genuine microdrop of oil from the Ekofisk field, contained within the Hydracapsule®.

Every component of BLACK GOLD contributes to the same idea. The layered dial reflects the geological formations beneath the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The warm rose gold details represent the value eventually brought to the surface. The oil drop recalls what remained hidden beneath layers of rock for millions of years.
When every detail has a reason to exist, nothing needs to shout. Everything simply belongs.
